Day 1: Çeşme – Chios Island
For the Chios Island tour, we meet at the check-in office at the entrance of Çeşme customs port at 08:00 in the morning. Following passport control, our pleasant journey across the blue waters of the Aegean begins at 09:20. When we arrive at the port of Chios Island, after completing the entry procedures, we meet at our office and begin exploring Chios Island, the hidden treasure of the Aegean. Together with our guide, after passing through the Chios Island bazaar called APLOTERYA, the MECİDİYE Mosque commissioned by Sultan Abdulmecid, and VOUNAKİ SQUARE, the largest and busiest square on Chios Island, we will visit CHIOS CASTLE, built during the BYZANTINE period and later serving as the island’s administrative center during the GENOESE and OTTOMAN periods, along with the OTTOMAN structures inside it, and then begin our North Island tour. Our first stop is the 4 windmills by the sea (TABAKİKA), which appear on every platform as one of the island’s most important symbols. The historic windmills were used to draw water for the leather-processing tanneries (tabakika), which also gave the area its name. Restored in recent years with the support of the municipality, they have become a memorable spot that all tourists visiting the island make sure to see. After our photo break here, we continue our tour. Our next stop is DASKALOPETRA, the area where Homer, the most famous poet of Chios Island in ancient times, produced the works Iliad and Odyssey, which he introduced to world literature. It is a large rock that was turned into a school by his students in the 6th century BC. This beautiful memorial site will make you question the lifestyle and artistic understanding of thousands of years ago. We then take a lunch break in LANGADA, the island’s most charming fishing village. In the traditional Greek taverns (restaurants) by the sea, you will have the opportunity to taste not only traditional appetizers and classic dishes of Greek cuisine, but also the freshest seafood. On our way back, we take a photo break at the AGİOS İSİDOROS church located over the sea, one of the island’s symbolic sites. It is said that the story of mastic began with this saint. After this stop, we head to the hotel and have free time.

Day 2: Chios Island – Çeşme
After breakfast, we take our seats in our vehicle and begin our tour toward the villages in the south of the island called MASTIHAHORIA, which hold a monopoly on the production of MASTIC GUM worldwide. Our first stop on the tour is ARMOLİA village, famous for its handmade ceramics for hundreds of years, where we take a short break to visit one of its renowned ceramic workshops. Our next stop is MESTA, which has best preserved its architectural structure to the present day among the many castle-villages dating back to the Middle Ages on Chios Island. It takes us on a journey back in time to the 13th century, when it was built. We reach the square in the center of the village by proceeding through its labyrinth-like side streets and take a coffee break. After visiting the Church of Taksiarchis, we leave the village. Our next village is PYRGİ, unique in the world for the geometric shapes on its houses. Our guide provides us with detailed information about this technique, called Ksista, which has been practiced for centuries since the Genoese period. We then go to a seaside tavern for lunch. Here, our guests can choose whatever they like from a menu consisting of various seafood and appetizers. At the end of the tour, we bid you farewell from the port of Chios Island with wonderful memories.
